A new standalone sexy contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling author Nina Lane!
He may own a candy company, but this wealthy bachelor is no Willy Wonka.
Sugar Rush Candy Company CEO Luke Stone is a devoted businessman who doesn't do relationships. He does short-term affairs with clearly defined rules. But when a sexy bohemian angel propositions him in a bar, Luke is tempted to want more.
Polly Lockhart is horrified when she wakes the morning after her twenty-third birthday to realize she made a fool of herself with a sinfully delicious man. She tells herself she doesn't have time for romance anyway, as she's fighting to keep her mother's beloved bakery afloat and finish her culinary studies. That all changes when her class tours the famed Sugar Rush headquarters, and Polly collides with her dream man again.
As she succumbs to their hot attraction, Polly soon realizes her bakery isn't the only thing that needs saving. Luke, driven and unyielding, will burn out unless someone convinces him to taste the sweetness of life. But can Polly remember this sugar rush is only temporary?
As sweet as it’s title, as sexy as it’s cover, this new novel from Nina Lane hit many of the right spots for me.
Something about the cover and the synopsis of Sweet Dreams just screamed READ ME, so I did. I absolutely loved the heroine, Polly. She is definitely not a damsel in distress. Polly is a strong-willed, independent woman doing her best to keep her small family bakery in business. Then she meets Luke Stone. If you crave a hot CEO romance then this book is most certainly for you. Luke is super sexy and can be very dirty. 🙂
I will say the beginning of the book didn’t completely grab me. The story was slow going for a while, but I am so glad I stuck with it. By the end, the angst turned me into a tear streaked mess. Gosh, I eat up those gut wrenching scenes the most.
The ending wrapped up nicely though a little too quickly, in my opinion. This book can be read as a stand-alone. The next book in the series (which I am anxiously awaiting) will focus on a different couple in the same Sugar Rush world. I’m pretty sure we’ll get glimpses of Polly and Luke though. I hope.
3.5 stars for this fun, sweet, and sexy romance novel.
