Ivy Mason has it all: beauty, a plush apartment, a fancy car, and a debonair British spy boyfriend who pays all her bills. If only her boyfriend was in her life—and her bed—more than just sporadically.

Part of an underground British agency called the Shadow, Devon Clay knows that secrecy is what has kept him alive. Anyone he loves is a liability, and being involved with him puts the other person in grave danger. Yet Ivy is someone his heart can’t resist.

When an enemy from Devon’s past returns, the spy and his girlfriend are thrown headlong into an international conspiracy that puts everyone Ivy loves at risk. From the Missouri River bottoms to the brothels of Amsterdam, Ivy and Devon must outrun and outmaneuver the forces allied against them, and no one can be trusted.

Review

I am in lust with the Tangled Ivy trilogy! It just seems to hit all the right spots for me. The pacing of the story is just right, and there’s a perfect balance of romance and suspense. These books are just so addicting that I never want them to end. Devon is just so sexy and swoony with the mystique and power that surrounds him. I will say that we do get to see some vulnerability with Devon in Shadow of a Doubt, and that vulnerable piece of him is Ivy.

‘We were a pair, he and I. Both damaged goods, but from the outside looking in we were perfect – our pretty facades hiding the broken and jagged parts of our soul.’

I don’t know about the rest of you ladies, but a man like Devon Clay just does it for me. He has a harden, untouchable exterior, but deep down he’s craves closeness and connection just like the rest of us. He has this smooth British accent that I could actually hear in my head as I was reading. He also treats Ivy like a queen and pampers her in a way that made me feel envious.

Even though there is a ton of romance and sexy times, the plot really drives this story. The action and suspense was gripping, and it had me hanging on the edge of my seat. Ivy tries to outrun the bad guys, Devon is killing the bad guys, there’s shootouts, and even an incident in an Amsterdam brothel. Between all the action and the swoon-worthy scenes I couldn’t put this book down.

Since this is the second book in a three part series I was worried the ending would really leave me cliff hanging. I have to say though, I am satisfied with how the author ended this book. I am still very much looking forward to the final book. I CANNOT WAIT!

“You’re beautiful, inside and out. The past is gone forever. Tomorrow is never assured. There’s only today. Live in today. Promise me.”

About Tiffany Snow

I love to stick with characters over a series of books when I read, which is the same way I write. The Kathleen Turner Series, Risky Business Series, Tangled Ivy Trilogy, and now the Corrupted Hearts Series all feature continuing characters. My latest novel, FOLLOW ME, is book one in the Corrupted Hearts Series with China Mack–the most unlikely of heroines. BREAK ME, book two, will be out in March, 2017.

As for me, I’ve been reading romance novels since I was way too young to read such things, have an unhealthy obsession for all things Doctor Who, prefer Pepsi to Coke and Absolut to both, think men who drink girly cocktails are wusses, have learned to never stop believing in my beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and can recite the entire scripts of When Harry Met Sally and Apollo 13. George Washington is cool, Bon Jovi still rocks the house, and Bruce Willis is the ultimate alpha-male hero. Most of all, romance never, ever gets old.
