The provocative author of Asking for It once again explores the dark side of erotic obsession, and the secrets that make it as dangerous as it is irresistible.
Some secrets should only be shared in the dark.
Jonah and Vivienne’s erotic bond—living out raw scenarios of captivity and force—began as no-strings sex between strangers who shared the same desires. Now the intimacy between them is turning into love, but it’s a love built on fantasies so extreme that exploring them makes guilt inescapable. But the risks they're taking are far more dangerous than they'd imagined.
A stalker is terrorizing the city, and one of Jonah’s ex-lovers names him as a potential suspect to the police. Standing by a man under suspicion could cost Vivienne everything. But when Jonah’s stepfather takes advantage of the scandal to seize control of the Marks family fortune, Vivienne is drawn into her lover’s broken family and twisted past. Only then will she learn how dark the truth really is...
Asking For It was one of those books that completely took me and most everyone that read it by surprise. It was superbly written and the author handled the delicate subject matter of rape fantasy respectfully and with grace. And it is the same with this sequel. The sensual scenes are highly erotic and probably some the hottest I have ever read. The main characters are deeply complex and learning how they comes to terms with who the are as individuals, as a couple, and dealing with their dark desires was such a journey.
‘I would have been his victim, his slave. Just thinking about him taking control makes my pulse race. I feel it in my gut, in my throat, and between my legs.’
After I finished Asking For It and Begging For It, they stayed with me for days and days. Everything about these books just clicked for me and ticked nearly every box of what erotica romance should strive to accomplish. It is so hard to describe, but I think it boils down to just thought-provoking storytelling by Ms. Pace.
‘Jonah Marks is a masterpiece unlike any other. And he is mine.’
The first book mainly centered around Vivienne and Jonah’s exploration of the dark cravings together. While this book still spends a great chuck on that too, it also weaves in a mystery and we also learn a great deal more about Jonah’s family. Begging For It left my feeling hopeful for Vivienne and Jonah’s future. I felt they are headed in the right direction to a place of peace, understanding, and acceptance of themselves. I hope the author decides to write more about them in the future and maybe some of the secondary characters because there were some loose ends I’d like to see tied up with some particular family members.
