From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Bully, Until You, Rival, and Falling Away comes the sizzling conclusion to the Fall Away series.

The tables have turned. Now I have the power—and it’s his turn to beg…

Everyone wants to be me.

Maybe it’s the sway of my skirt or the way I flip my hair, but I don’t care. Even though their attention is the last thing I crave, I just can’t stop. I dominate the track, the speed rattles my bones, and the wind and the crowd screams my name.

I’m her. The girl driver. The queen of the race. And I’m surviving—something he thought I’d never do.

They all talk about him. Did you see Jared Trent on T.V? What did you think of his last race, Tate? When is he coming back to town, Tate?

But I refuse to care too much. Because when Jared does come home, I won’t be here.

Tatum Brandt is gone. I’m someone new.

Review

Did you think Jared and Tate had their happily ever after at the end of Bully? Wrong. Things are far from perfect for them, in the tank actually. I can completely understand how things could go sour for them. When they finally became a couple they were still in high school. When you’re that young you are far from an adult, you’re still trying to understand yourself, and finding your place in the world.

For some reason, driving – racing – kept me connected. Connected to a time when my blood ran hot under my skin and my heart craved more life.

I liked how the tables were kind of turned on Jared in this book after his treatment of Tate in Bully. I felt he got off easy for some of that. Anyway, both characters are older and stronger on their own now. However, they have this magnetic chemistry that pull them together and they are ultimately much stronger and happier as a team.

“It will be my ring on your finger and my kids in your belly someday.”

I thoroughly enjoyed their journey finding their way back to each other. I enjoyed the gut-wrenching angst. I enjoyed the racing scenes that you know is going to part of any Jared and Tate story. I enjoyed the kickass playlist that provides an excellent backdrop. And I loved hanging out with the Fall Away gang one last time. Aflame was a wonderful conclusion to the Fall Away series.

    Spoilers alert!
Didn’t like this one. I should have stopped at Bully & Until You. The time apart was more of a plot device than anything. The couple who already had their HEA in previous books, ended up sleeping with other people. Their reunion is also too incidental. Jared is also too douchy here & Tate a major doormat. She took him back less than a week without any major groveling. Actually it’s even her who apologized to him after the incident in a stripper bar. Also when Jared came back, Tate is in another relationship. She’s had numerous sexual encounters with Jared when she was still in another. That’s called cheating. The epilogue is the only part I mildly enjoyed.

Sorry this sequel didn’t work for you. 🙁 I think Bully was my least loved of the series just because I thought Jared’s bullying and cruelty went over the top in that one. Jax and KC/Juliet’s book was my favorite of the series.

I’m actually glad that the author is changing gear on her next releases and will do more dark erotica. I think that’s more right her alley. I think that she’s not very comfortable writing vanilla romances. Nothing wrong with that and it’s actually a compliment since I think that she will do good with those darker stories. But this book has ruined the series for me and kinda made me bitter and lost interest with the author. This is the last book that I will read of her.
