As Reapers Motorcycle Club president, Reese “Picnic” Hayes has given his entire life to the club. After losing his wife, he knew he’d never love another woman. And with two daughters to raise and a club to manage, that was just fine with him. These days, Reese keeps his relationships free and easy—he definitely doesn’t want to waste his time on a glorified cleaning lady like London Armstrong.
Too bad he’s completely obsessed with her.
Besides running her own business, London’s got her junkie cousin’s daughter to look after—a more reckless than average eighteen-year-old. Sure she’s attracted to the Reapers’ president, but she’s not stupid. Reese Hayes is a criminal and a thug. But when her young cousin gets caught up with a ruthless drug cartel, Reese might be the only man who can help her. Now London has to make the hardest decision of her life—how far will she go to save her family?
I knew once I got a little more of Picnic in Devil’s Game (ReapersMc #2) that I wanted more…lots more. Oooo wee did we get it. Reese “Picnic” Hayes is the Reapers MC president. Something about the prez excites me. We learned in Devil’s Game that Picnic had a great wife, but he lost her due to cancer. So sad, broke my heart that part of the story. Picnic is true to his MC bad ass self, and has women at his feet (I should say on their knees). He needs no woman, he already had his love of his life, and lost her. Until he meets London.
London is the clubs cleaning lady she has been for quite sometime. Picnic has noticed her many times just never wanted to mix business and pleasure. Until London’s niece causes a mess and brings the two together.
“Don’t fuck with a mama bear, Reese. Doesn’t end well for anyone- not even big, bad biker.”
I loved one of their first interactions. Picnic showed his true MC dirtiness. I LOVED IT!
“I wanted to chase her down when she did it…run her down, rip off her jeans, and shove deep inside while she screamed at me.”
“Take something off, because otherwise I’m going to start ripping things.”
This series is one of my favorites. Joanna Wylde gives us the raw no holds bar MC, plus kick ass heroines with hat as hell tattooed men who know how to be asshole bikers, but love their women and not afraid to show it.
Another reason I love this series is the characters are older. This is not NA romance. These are characters who have lived life and been kicked in the ass a time or two. No perfect couples with perfect lives. All the charters seem real. I think thats why we all connect with this series so well. Trust me ladies this is a good one. Picnic is bossy and your gonna like it 😉
“The way his eyes followed me. Like he wanted to eat me, and not in a nice flowers and candle lit dinner kind of way.”
Bethany’s 4.5 Star Review
One word I’d use to describe Reaper’s Stand – ADDICTIVE! It was another all nighter for me reading about Picnic and London and The Reaper’s MC. This book had a terrific blend of action, suspense, explosive sex, grit, and romance.
‘That bitch was gonna be mine and I didn’t share.’
Oh, Picnic, you are definitely no picnic. Reese “Picnic” Hayes was on my bad side for the first big chunk of this book He was an unapologetic man-whore and quite frankly, a bully. I didn’t like the way he treated London in the beginning, but boy did he redeem himself before it was all said and done. He won me over in the end.
“I’m sensin’ a pattern here,” he muttered, frowning at me. “Every time I get you horizontal, you run away. Not a fan, sweetheart.”
The writing was excellent! Seriously, Joanna Wylde knows how to write a superb story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and also gets you all hot and bothered at the same time. I commend her for the amount of research she invested into the MC culture to make this series as close to accurate as possible, along with giving readers diverse characters and creative plots. I’m anxious for what she has in store for us next!
