We at Lit Slave adore Joanna & Kylie and are super excited for this EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW! We loved REAPER’S STAND! Picnic & London’s story was one of the best in the series! To celebrate Joanna’s new release , we interviewed these two
BFF’s, I mean frenemies. Never the ones to disappoint, they put their own twist on it.
(Don’t forget to check back on Oct. 24th
for our reviews and blog tour stop)
Joanna Wylde- Yo. SCOTT! Erin at Litslave invited me to do an interview with you.
I didn’t want to because you smell funny, but she’s very nice so I figure we should roll with itKylie Scott: What?! Why on earth would she do that?
Joanna Wylde- I’m sure she wants to interview me because I’m fascinating and shit. I have no idea why she’s interested in you. Fetish?Kylie Scott; She probably feels sorry for you and this some sort of bizarre set up to keep you occupied and out of harms way. What are even the questions?
1) Joanna Wylde- Entirely possible. Pity has always been my friend. Here’s the first one:
“Do you always have a muse for your characters, before you start writing?”
Tell us, Kylie. Who is your muse? Aside from me, of course.Kylie Scott: I work tirelessly to forward the cause for male models everywhere. They, those poor pretty souls, are my muses.
Joanna Wylde- Your concern for their care is well known. It’s very inspiring and I cry almost every time I look at your page. Or drool. Whatevs.
Kylie Scott: What about you? You got some muses?
Joanna Wylde- Not usually, no. I found a picture online that inspired the character I’m working on right now, but for the most part it’s all in my head. Not a very visual person.
2) Kylie Scott: Alrighty, so “what are you working on right now” then? Apart from the destabilization of western society.
Joanna Wylde- It’s the first in my new series, called Silver Bastard. It’s set in the Silver Valley in north Idaho, and there will be MC books and non-MC books — sort of my way of branching out.
How about you?
Destroyed any lives lately, or are you too busy writing?
Kylie Scott: I’m still working on Deep the 4th book in my mighty Stage Dive series. Sick children etc have been slowing me down. So that’s why I’ve decided to pack them up and post them to you. Enjoy.
Joanna Wylde- Oh, lovely! I’m sure I’ll get a very nice price for them, they’re darlings. Now watch – a rumor will spread on twitter that we’re child trafficking…
Kylie Scott: yep
3) Joanna Wylde- So, answer me this:
“What is your favorite book of each others?”
Which of my books do you love best, Kylie?
Tell me! My identity and self esteem are contingent on your answer… And may I add, you’re looking lovel — nope, can’t pull off nice. Sorry. I tried.
Kylie Scott- My favourite is Reapers Stand because it’s all about the beautiful love story of Picnic and Kylie (code name: London) getting together and living happily ever after.
Kylie Scott: What about you?
Joanna Wylde- Interesting. I particularly enjoyed Play, which featured the sexy Mal Erickson and his one true love, Joanna. You spelled her name wrong in the book, though.
Kylie Scott: Oops. My bad.
Joanna Wylde- I corrected it for you
And yet you still got it wrong
4) Kylie Scott: Next question, “would we ever write a book together?”
Joanna Wylde- Death first. You’re far too mean.
Kylie Scott: No. She smells bad.
Like, really bad.
Joanna Wylde- True story. Haven’t showered today – still in jammies
5) Kylie Scott: Ha. Me too.
So tell them the beautiful story of how we met and became frenemies.
Joanna Wylde- Oh. That.
Well, you wrote some zombie books that were really quite nice.
Kylie Scott: Cheers, mate.
Joanna Wylde- I’m assuming you weren’t the real author.
On the Dear Author blog they reviewed it, and felt that some of your world building wasn’t solid because it wasn’t explained.
I disagreed and commented on it.
That’s when you came to me, groveling like a puppy for my approval. Or something.
You may remember it differently.
Kylie Scott: I said thanks. That was about it really.
Joanna Wylde- No, I remember protestations of undying love or some such.
Followed by flowers and male models showing up at my house?
Kylie Scott: And then we started hurling insults at each and found that it was a relaxing thing to do. Hence, here we are today.
Joanna Wylde- That part sounds right. I remember the insults. Very soothing.
6) Kylie Scott: Last question:
“Got any strange writing habits, ho?”
Joanna Wylde- Well, I often take a break mid-afternoon to chat with you, for reasons I cannot fathom.
Kylie Scott: Well, this has been lovely. I hope we’ve explained our antagonistic alliance and shone some light on the mystery that is us.
It’s not much of a mystery really. Sorry ’bout that.
Joanna Wylde- Yeah, whatever.
Sorry Erin. She’s really quite unpleasant. Feel free to edit her out of my magnificent interview.
Kylie Scott: Should we give books away now? That usually makes them happy…
Joanna Wylde- Oh, I like giving away books!
I’ve got a signed copy of Reaper’s Stand up for grabs, I think….
Kylie Scott: I’ve got a signed copy of Lick!
Joanna Wylde- Nice. That’s a decent book. Think I might even have a signed copy of it myself 😉 Shall we let Erin decide how to give them away?
Kylie Scott: Sure thing. And thanks for letting us visit, Erin!
Joanna Wylde- Thanks Erin! *smooches*
