Erin’s Review of Jagged by Kristen Ashley

An old flame rekindled . . .

Zara Cinders always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn’t interested in settling down. When she found someone who was, Ham walked out of her life. Three years later, Zara’s lost her business, her marriage, and she’s barely getting by in a tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks. As soon as Ham hears about Zara’s plight, he’s on her doorstep offering her a lifeline. Now, it will take every ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.

Ham was always a traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more time than absolutely necessary. But Ham’s faced his own demons, and he’s learned a lot. About himself, and about the life he knows he’s meant to live. So when he hears that Zara’s having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact, he wants to do more than that for Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he’s a changed man.

Zara and Ham’s book is a second chance love story. I really am a sucker for 2nd chance love stories and I am a Kristen Ashley Fanatic!! If there is any author out there that I would FREAK to meet it would be her.
Jagged was not one of her best books but it was still good!! Zara and Ham had a friends with benefits kind of relationship and eventually, Zara needs more and cuts Ham loose. We do find out there is a reason he has issues with committing to Zara. Zara then settles, and marries another man. We all know that won’t end well. They eventually find their way back to each other and things are far from running smooth. Perfect KA formula!!! I love that in her books the heroine always plays hard to get. I am all about the chase and KA gives me that in every book. The only thing is, it seems maybe now her books are a bit more rushed?
We first met Ham in For You the first book in Burg Series. He had a thing with February, and that is brought up in this book. Now everyone has a past, but that part didn’t sit well with me. If I was Zara I would have felt, like I was always feel 2nd choice because he seems to still feel for her. But other than that Ham is sexy bossy rugged alpha man.
Zara is a very independent woman and loves Ham even if he can’t stop being a jerk!!!
One thing that I absolutely LOVED in this book, was KA put the song Colder Weather by Zac Brown Band in their story. Such a great song and fits the story so well. In the end I definitely enjoyed the book and will continue to buy all her stuff without a thought. The Colorado Mountain Men Series is one of her best!!! When I read these books its a feeling of going home. Makes me want to go sit on any of the mountain men’s deck and put my feet up with a cup of coffee. It would be nice if Tate were with me!!  LOL, but that is where these books transport me.

“Just sayin’, serious, no joke, we have what we have now or even what we had before, if we made a baby and I was carrying it inside me, no way I’d ever let it go. I just got out the O sound in “go” when his arms got so tight”
