Billionaire Caleb Blackstone lives in the glamorous world of wealth and success, with every material luxury. But the moment he sees Brooke Casterley, none of that matters. Caleb is filled with a raw, undeniable need that he can’t ignore…for a girl who is so completely different from everything and everyone he’s ever known.
Only Brooke isn’t looking for love. She knows all too well just how much damage the wrong guy can do. Still, what sane, broke British girl can resist the charms of an incredibly sexy, chivalrous billionaire? What starts as flirtation quickly turns into all-consuming passion. Nothing could have prepared her for the searing heat of Caleb’s touch—or just how much she craves him.
Their whirlwind romance is the stuff of high-society fantasy—but for every moment of pleasure, there is a cost. Past mistakes and tragedy shadow them both…and falling for him might be the kind of trouble she can’t afford.
Several years ago I read the Blackstone Affair and I liked those books quite a bit. When I seen Raine Miller was writing a new Blackstone book I was excited to read it. Also this cover model is smokin’!
Unfortunately, Filthy Rich just did not do it for me. If I was only reading for the sexy times then yeah, it would do it. But Filthy Rich, in my opinion, lacked depth and reader/character connection.
First of all, the book has an insta-love trope which I almost always find unrealistic, even in fiction. I think it’s impossible to be in love with someone you have seen three times and spent 15 minutes talking to.
This story also had plot twist after plot twist. None of the twists were fleshed out or explored in any way except on the surface level. By the end of the book it was ridiculous.
This book was an easy read. It had many sweet moments and the erotic scenes were hot. If I had read this story 3 or 4 years ago I would have probably like it a lot more than I did now. I suppose my tastes have changed, and I just expected more from my romances now.
