Review – Down the Shore by T. Torrest

Review – Down the Shore by T. Torrest

Down the Shore on April 21, 2015 This is my first T. Torrest book, and I was super excited to read it because of all the amazing reviews I’ve seen for her Remember trilogy. While this one didn’t quite work for me overall, it definitely had it’s sexy, funny, and heartwarming moments. Livia was a funny, open, and unapologetic heroine. She was a huge music fan, and an equally huge fan of no-strings-attached hook ups with musicians. And then, she meets Jack…. SWOON! Jack, the crazy hot, sexy as hell musician is sick of the quick hook up lifestyle, and when he meets Livia, he knows that he’s ready to move on from his former ways. They instantly have a connection, and end up coming to an agreement — they will go on 10 dates before they have sex. As this is far from their usual norm, it isn’t easy, […]

Review – Wild Heat by Lucy Monroe

Review – Wild Heat by Lucy Monroe

Wild Heat on April 28, 2015 3.5 to 4 stars! Wild Heat is the first book in the Northern Fire series by Lucy Monroe. This is a new to me author, so I must admit that it was the gorgeous cover that immediately got my attention! I’m also a huge fan of second chance romances, so with that combination, I was sold. With the hot cover and the blurb, I thought I was in for a sweet, sexy romance with a little bit of angst thrown in, but ended up getting so much more than that. I really wasn’t expecting the depth that Wild Heat contained. The author was brave to include some very serious issues: domestic abuse and eating disorders, along with low self esteem and self image. These issues weren’t just lightly touched upon either, they really were the basis for the story and touched the MC’s lives […]

Review – Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Review – Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Until July on April 13, 2015 Getting lost in an Aurora Rose Reynolds book is one of my favorite guilty pleasures! They’re always sexy and full of heart, with heroines that I want to become BFF’s with and hot as hell alpha males that I love to lust over. Since the beginning of the Until series, I’ve become really attached to the Mayson family. It all began with Asher and November, and has come full circle now with their first daugher, July, finding her BOOM. July Mayson is all grown up at 26 years old, and working as a veterinarian. She’s sweet and has a big heart, but isn’t actively looking for love. She unexpectedly meets Wes Silver, when she nearly runs him off the road. Wes is a military vet and a biker, and not exactly the man her uber alpha father would pair her with. July and Wes […]

Review – Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Review – Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Shaken, Not Stirred on March 17, 2015 Shaken, Not Stirred is the last book in the Last Call series by Sawyer Bennett. This can definitely be read as a standalone. It’s actually the first book I’ve read in the series. Now that I’ve gotten to know the Markham family and many other great characters, I look forward to going back to the beginning to learn all their stories as well. Casey, the heroine, is the face you will see if you look up the definition of “man-eater” in the dictionary. She was cocky, knew exactly what she wanted, and what she wanted was sex with strangers and no strings attached. When it came to relationships, Casey was emotionally unavailable, and continued to keep herself at a distance in order to protect herself from heartache. That is, until she met Tenn…. I loved Tenn! As a marine, cowboy and biker, he […]

Review – Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven

Review – Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven

Broken Juliet on April 26, 2015 4.5 stars! As Broken Juliet was one of my most anticipated books so far this year, I was beyond excited to finally get my hands on it! It was absolutely worth the wait. I loved this second book in the Starcrossed series so much! One of my favorite parts of this book was seeing Ethan’s growth, and really getting inside his head. When we left him in Bad Romeo, he was a man cursed with serious abandonment issues and self sabatoge. Three years after destroying Cassie and breaking her heart, it was Ethan’s turn to have patience with her as she worked through her relationship and trust issues. His patience and understanding truly knew no bounds. Cassie continued to be her relatable, open and honest self, but because of her extreme heartache had become raw and unable to open herself back up to love. […]

Review – Unspoken by Brenda Rothert

Review – Unspoken by Brenda Rothert

Unspoken on October 19, 2014 I love a good second chance romance, and was so excited to discover that Brenda Rothert had written one. I really wanted to love this book, but it just didn’t work for me. Unspoken absolutely had the potential to be an amazing read. I was initially so intrigued, but once I got into the story, I was continuously frustrated with the immaturity of the hero Brady, in particular, and the silly decision making by both Palmer (the heroine) and Brady. Palmer and Brady are engaged to be married when Palmer’s mother becomes seriously ill. Palmer decides to take it upon herself to step up and take care of her mother, along with taking over the care of her disabled younger brother. When Palmer and Brady sit down to discuss this, along with their future, their engagement ends due to their serious lack of communication, and […]

Review – Unbound – Colours of Love by Kathryn Taylor

Review – Unbound – Colours of Love by Kathryn Taylor

Unbound – Colours of Love on Apil 13, 2015 2.5 to 3 stars! This book first drew my attention because it was recommended to fans of Fifty Shades of Grey. I was intrigued by the premise, but other than the young millionaire/virgin formula, the comparisons stop there. Grace is a young university student, and on the first day of her internship in London, meets the sexy and filthy rich Jonathan Huntington. As the owner and founder of Huntington Ventures and place of Grace’s internship, Jonathan is seemingly untouchable. That is, until he soon asks her to ditch her expected intern work and status, to come work with him personally. This of course is where the drama starts to unfold. The story started out well, and I really enjoyed the first 25% or so, but then by the second half it started to drag a bit. I questioned quite a bit […]

Review – Say My Name by J. Kenner

Review – Say My Name by J. Kenner

Say My Name on April 7, 2015 Say My Name is the first book in a new series, and is a spinoff of the Stark trilogy. This is the first J. Kenner book I’ve read, and it can definitely be read as a standalone. While characters from the original series are a part of this new story, I never felt lost or wondering about details from the past. Now that I’ve read and enjoyed Say My Name, I’m planning on going back and reading the Stark trilogy soon. It’s been five years since Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks spent two amazing and unforgettable days together. Two short days were enough for Jackson to be ready to connect himself to Sylvia forever, but she shatters their connection when she begs him to walk away for him for good. Jackson has since become a world renowned architect, and Sylvia as Damien Stark’s […]

Review: Where Sea Meets Sky by Karina Halle

Review: Where Sea Meets Sky by Karina Halle

Where Sea Meets Sky by Karina Halle on March 31, 2015 I went into this book mostly blind, really not knowing what to expect. As a fan of Karina Halle’s, I was hoping for some delicious angst, a unique story, and some serious steam. I ended up getting the unique story and steam, an overload of frustrating angst, along with something I didn’t expect: a new love for a country across the world. Josh Miles’ one night stand with Gemma Henare lights a spark in his otherwise dull existence. Their night together, and the intrigue and promise that Gemma shows Josh causes him to make the huge decision to take a trip across the world. With only her first name and very little money, Josh tracks Gemma down and they end up on a whirlwind road trip of New Zealand together. What happens next between Josh and Gemma is far […]

Review: Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti

Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti on March 31, 2015 Genres: Romance, Suspense Series: Sin Brothers #4 Wow! Loved this book, and this entire series! I devoured all four books in less than a week, and was left wondering why in the world it took me so long to read this series in the first place. Each book just got better, and Total Surrender was my absolute favorite! Each book is based around a different brother, but it’s essential to read each book in order. This is not a stand alone series. Total Surrender was action-packed, full of suspense and some serious steam! These alpha male brothers are HOT, and Jory was no exception. As my new favorite brother, he well exceeded my expectations and then some. Rebecca Zanetti has nailed writing the perfect alpha male. They’re larger than life, deadly, beautiful, with an insanely strong commitment to family and to […]
