Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch...
Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.
Then she meets JC.
The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s JC who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.
Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for JC, she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.
BOOK ONE OF TWO. This series can be read alone or with the Fixed Trilogy.
Hot, sweaty, and melt your panties arousing! There were so many off the charts sexy times in Laurelin Paige’s FREE ME. If you’re looking for a novel to get the juices flowing then look no further. And I have to tell you, listening to those sensual scenes on audio is such a different experience than reading the ebook.
I enjoyed this audiobook. On top of being ultra provocative, it was also enveloped in mystery. Gwen is living a predictable and straight and narrow life, J.C. offers her a chance to live carefree. J.C. helps Gwen to let loose of her inhibitions and enjoy her sexuality freely. Their sexual relationship quickly turns into deeper, romantic feelings. While Gwens opens up and offers all of herself to J.C., he is holding back. J.C. is hiding something. I was pretty surprised when his mysterious revelations came to light. It put a nice little twist into this erotic story.
Although Free Me takes place in the Fixed Trilogy world, reading Fixed beforehand is not required. I admit, I had a hard time remembering Gwen’s character from the previous books. However, I definitely remembered her sister, Norma. Norma is an exceptional supporting character in this book. I think Fixed fans and new readers alike, will enjoy this sexy romantic spin-off series.
Narrator remarks: I liked the narrator’s raspy and sultry voice, and I felt it was perfect for the role of Gwen. I think she did a great job of bringing the characters to life.
