Irrevocable by Shay Savage on May 26, 2015 Buy on Amazon Goodreads Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Suspense Series: Evan Arden #5 Pages: 463 Have you ever made a mistake? A big one? I’m back in Chicago and back in business with my boss, Rinaldo Moretti. So much for my run at a normal life. There are some new faces in the organization, and someone’s been cooking the books. Personally? I think they’re after more than a just little cash. If I have any hopes of flushing out the traitor, I’m going to need to find a good hooker to help me sleep at night. As the bodies pile up, I find solace in Alina. There’s something about her, something different. She understands me without asking a lot of questions. It’s as if she’s known me for years, yet we’ve only just met. If I weren’t so distracted by business, I’d try […]

KEEPIN’ IT REAL #3: Thank You Book World!

KEEPIN’ IT REAL #3: Thank You Book World!

Just a quick post to say thank you to all who were genuine, and supportive during these past couple months. For the past few months I have been helping take care of my mother in law while she fought cancer. She went through HELL for many years, and on this past Mother’s Day finally lost the battle 🙁 I was putting all my time and energy into her and our family. I haven’t been reading or reviewing books. My brain just could not focus on a story. I let my blogging/BFF girls know, and what happen next BLEW MY MIND! I started receiving messages, gifts, care packages and then some. My heart was so moved from the kindness and love, I was an emotional mess. I never could have imagined my love of reading, would bring me to meet such wonderful women. From the depths of my soul, I thank you! I’d also like […]

Review: ShutterGirl by CD Reiss

Review: ShutterGirl by CD Reiss

ShutterGirl by CD Reiss on May 16, 2015 Buy on Amazon Goodreads Pages: 317 A NEW STANDALONE FROM USA TODAY BESTSELLER CD REISS ONE movie star on the cusp of greatness. ONE broken girl who touched him. TEN years to forget her. A MILLION stories in Hollywood. I am not hurt. I don’t need a second chance with him, or a life I thought I had. While he was out forgetting me to become a movie star, I was building a career out of nothing. A career as a paparazzi, but a career. For a foster kid who bounced around every home in Los Angeles, that wasn’t easy. This camera is all I have. He’s nothing to me. Every time I take his picture and sell it, I remind myself that I did it all without him or his approval, his cinnamon smell or his lithe body. He can light […]

My Time in the Affair by Stylo Fantome on May 2, 2015 Buy on Amazon Goodreads Genres: Contemporary, Romance Pages: 292 ~Mischa~ I made a conscious decision to cheat on my husband. Now, before you judge me, hear my story. Hear how much I’m like you, how similar my thoughts are to your own. Yes, I’m a horrible person. Yes, I’ve done horrible things. Yes, I don’t deserve forgiveness. Yes, bad things happened because of my actions. But I’m willing to bet I’ve done things that maybe, just maybe, you have thought of doing. Maybe, just maybe, you’re not as innocent as you’d like to think. Or maybe I’m not so guilty … Full Length Standalone Novel, 85,000+ words Review I have been teetering rating this book between 4-4.5 stars. It came very close to being one of my favorite reads of 2015. It had many elements that I just […]

Review – Down the Shore by T. Torrest

Review – Down the Shore by T. Torrest

Down the Shore on April 21, 2015 This is my first T. Torrest book, and I was super excited to read it because of all the amazing reviews I’ve seen for her Remember trilogy. While this one didn’t quite work for me overall, it definitely had it’s sexy, funny, and heartwarming moments. Livia was a funny, open, and unapologetic heroine. She was a huge music fan, and an equally huge fan of no-strings-attached hook ups with musicians. And then, she meets Jack…. SWOON! Jack, the crazy hot, sexy as hell musician is sick of the quick hook up lifestyle, and when he meets Livia, he knows that he’s ready to move on from his former ways. They instantly have a connection, and end up coming to an agreement — they will go on 10 dates before they have sex. As this is far from their usual norm, it isn’t easy, […]

Review – Wild Heat by Lucy Monroe

Review – Wild Heat by Lucy Monroe

Wild Heat on April 28, 2015 3.5 to 4 stars! Wild Heat is the first book in the Northern Fire series by Lucy Monroe. This is a new to me author, so I must admit that it was the gorgeous cover that immediately got my attention! I’m also a huge fan of second chance romances, so with that combination, I was sold. With the hot cover and the blurb, I thought I was in for a sweet, sexy romance with a little bit of angst thrown in, but ended up getting so much more than that. I really wasn’t expecting the depth that Wild Heat contained. The author was brave to include some very serious issues: domestic abuse and eating disorders, along with low self esteem and self image. These issues weren’t just lightly touched upon either, they really were the basis for the story and touched the MC’s lives […]

Review – Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Review – Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Until July on April 13, 2015 Getting lost in an Aurora Rose Reynolds book is one of my favorite guilty pleasures! They’re always sexy and full of heart, with heroines that I want to become BFF’s with and hot as hell alpha males that I love to lust over. Since the beginning of the Until series, I’ve become really attached to the Mayson family. It all began with Asher and November, and has come full circle now with their first daugher, July, finding her BOOM. July Mayson is all grown up at 26 years old, and working as a veterinarian. She’s sweet and has a big heart, but isn’t actively looking for love. She unexpectedly meets Wes Silver, when she nearly runs him off the road. Wes is a military vet and a biker, and not exactly the man her uber alpha father would pair her with. July and Wes […]

Review – Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Review – Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Shaken, Not Stirred on March 17, 2015 Shaken, Not Stirred is the last book in the Last Call series by Sawyer Bennett. This can definitely be read as a standalone. It’s actually the first book I’ve read in the series. Now that I’ve gotten to know the Markham family and many other great characters, I look forward to going back to the beginning to learn all their stories as well. Casey, the heroine, is the face you will see if you look up the definition of “man-eater” in the dictionary. She was cocky, knew exactly what she wanted, and what she wanted was sex with strangers and no strings attached. When it came to relationships, Casey was emotionally unavailable, and continued to keep herself at a distance in order to protect herself from heartache. That is, until she met Tenn…. I loved Tenn! As a marine, cowboy and biker, he […]
